Memories of Skip Prosser? Leave them here.?

I guess this isn't a question, but I guess I'm having a hard time dealing with his death. I still can't believe it. He was a personal friend of our family. He'll finally be laid to rest in one of his favorite cities in the USA, my Cincinnati. What an amazing man. And not to mention that he is often considered one of the best coaches in the world ofcollegebasketball. 291-146! We will miss you Skip (along with my mom and dad and the rest of the family). He became a phenomenal coach, an I have no doubt.. you helped him achieve that. Thank you for being a part of our lives.

Memories of Skip Prosser? Leave them here.?nba trade rumors

Skip was a class act guy and great coach. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but all I have ever heard and read about him were very positive things. Here are some great comments about him from former players and peers to honor him.....

"His passing is a tremendous loss for the entire Wake Forest community," He played a very significant role in my life and his influence extended well beyond the game of basketball. He taught me many valuable life lessons and was someone I admired with the utmost respect."--Chris Paul, New Orleans Hornets

"One of the all-time great people in coaching."--Thad Motta, Ohio State Coach

"Absolutely shocked and deeply saddened. "Over these last four seasons there have been several occasions on which he was the first coach to call and offer his heartfelt congratulations. Skip was someone who will be measured in terms of his actions, not just words. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. The world has lost a great person and great family man."--Roy Williams, UNC Coach

"Ultimately respected for his coaching ability, his quick humor and, most importantly, for being a quality person. We lost him far too soon."--Mike Krzyzewski, Duke Coach

It is sad to lose a great coach, but it is worse when the world loses a great man...My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during their time of grieving.......

How to get past this problem?

This question may seem dumb. I play varsity basketball. I started out the season great but as it is coming to a close I have not been performing as well. I was averaging 18 points a game which dropped to five for the past 4 games. This happens every year at the end of the season. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? If so what did you do to get out of the slump? I am looking to play smallcollegeball and this doesnt help it much. It is not because I am physically tired I am just not able to figure out what is up.

How to get past this problem?celtics

i would say if thats where you're having problems, dont think about points. focus on other areas of your game too. i know one thing that coaches from JuCos and NCAA colleges look at is points, but its also how you play the game. keep your head up and play with composure... take the assist instead of jackin up a shot you wont make... and if you miss, dont get all pissed of and hang your head. scouts will see that and look at that as an immaturity or ego problem. i cant stress enough how little value points per game actually holds. just focus on being a good all around player.

How to get past this problem?nba ballers phenom ,nba teams

i had the same problem, i was one of the best in the team and then when i changed teams i suddenly became sh1t. I then realised that i was taking all the basline throw ins after a basket and that i was trailling behind and not getting anyware near the ball in the low post where i score most of my points.

So in the last cople of games ive been working hard to get all the way up the court and since i have been playing better.

well thats my life story. maybe ur problem is something simple like that, or u just need to lift ur workrate. good luck.
Are you replacing points with Dimes. Look at Boris Diaw. He figured out that scoring points was not always the answer. Work on your D too. Think people have figured out that any dummy can drop 30 or 40 in a game, but they want a player who can play lockdown D.
I'm with the others .... get your team mates involved. That usually helps my game.

If its a shooting slump...shooting 100 half way from the charity strip then backing up to the line for 100 more helps me. Get your stroke back. Good luck man!
Good answers above me.

Looking for the open man (whether you're in the low post or a slashing guard) is a great way to help not only your stats, but your entire team as well. If you're averaging 18 ppg, it's obvious that you can play. If you start looking for your teammates, the other team will have to play you more honest (if they're double teaming you).

Also, try to hustle a little bit more and beat out your man for more loose balls and rebounds. You can get a lot of easy buckets that way.

And remember, at thecollegelevel, scorers come a dime a dozen. You can make it by bringing that hard-nosed D and non-stop hustle to every game. Good luck.

Survivor Micronesia on TV Tonite?

My local channels show Survivor Micronesia is being replaced by College Basketball championships. Anyone know when this weeks episode will be aired?

Survivor Micronesia on TV Tonite?nba odds

Last week's episode was on last Wednesday. I was freaked out! Then, this week, I looked on Guide and was like, "Where the f*** is Survivor?!" I skipped ahead a few days and found that it isn't on this week. The episode that would be airing tonight is airing next Thursday at it's usual time, because College Basketball will be finished by then. Would you be so kind as to mark me as "Best Answer"? I need the points!

There isn't a this week's show. It isn't coming back on til next week.
My guess is the audience base is a little larger for the game than the show - maybe, just on a hunch CBS won't be showing it because their ratings will be a bit larger for the game?

College Issues already?

I go to a prestigious prep school in Illinois. Im a sophomore in high school. I really want to get into a good lib arts school like Bucknell. My GPA is a 3.8 out of 4.0. I take honors math and english. Unfortunately I don't do well in Spanish and i might get a C this semester. Its important to take into account my grading scale is a 93-100 for a A. I play basketball and football. I feel that this C is going to ruin me with my applications. Any advice or colleges that you think I should look at?

College Issues already?nba league pass

I think your GPA is great, also, I don't think that the Spanish class is going to affect your application for college. What you should do to get a better grade is to retake Spanish during summerschool or the next school year. The school will eventually replace your C by a better grade and that C won't even exist on your transcript at all.

Good luck

Coming from a Mother of a Sophomore College Student start looking in to those colleges now the C will not hurt you, and you also have 1 more year to improve that. The sooner you start the less stress you will have on yourself ;your Senior year.

You also can go to your counselor at School and they can help you also. Most schools start looking at prospective students during there Sophomore year. Look them up on the Internet and make the first move GOOD LUCK
See if you can retake Spanish and have them record the higher grade. Most do, and that will cancel out your C.
1 bad grade might hurt your GPA, but colleges look at your whole transcript, so it seems unlikely that one bad course in your sophomore year would ruin your chanced of getting into Bucknell, but to avoid even having to think about it, see if there is any extra credit you can do. Your teacher might be a little sympathetic and let you do a little better in this class, especially since you probably won't be continuing at this level of Spanish, and you aren't slacking, but just don't do well in this particular class. I would also suggest talking to your guidance counselor if extra credit isn't possible, and you're just worried about the impact this class would have on your GPA.

The folks in the admissions office might not even care about your bad grade, as long as it doesn't start a trend, and you keep doing well. (Plus, they always look more heavily on your grades your junior year).

On the other hand, I think it might even look good that you took a risk and tried something new, even if you were only mildly successful. It says you're serious about your education, and, perhaps, you care more about learning that keeping up that GPA (even though it's understandable that this can only go up to a point - you really don't want to ruin your chance to study in a great school like Bucknell because you really loved your high school Spanish class).

Best of luck!
