How to get past this problem?

This question may seem dumb. I play varsity basketball. I started out the season great but as it is coming to a close I have not been performing as well. I was averaging 18 points a game which dropped to five for the past 4 games. This happens every year at the end of the season. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? If so what did you do to get out of the slump? I am looking to play smallcollegeball and this doesnt help it much. It is not because I am physically tired I am just not able to figure out what is up.

i would say if thats where you're having problems, dont think about points. focus on other areas of your game too. i know one thing that coaches from JuCos and NCAA colleges look at is points, but its also how you play the game. keep your head up and play with composure... take the assist instead of jackin up a shot you wont make... and if you miss, dont get all pissed of and hang your head. scouts will see that and look at that as an immaturity or ego problem. i cant stress enough how little value points per game actually holds. just focus on being a good all around player.

How to get past this problem?nba ballers phenom ,nba teams

i had the same problem, i was one of the best in the team and then when i changed teams i suddenly became sh1t. I then realised that i was taking all the basline throw ins after a basket and that i was trailling behind and not getting anyware near the ball in the low post where i score most of my points.

So in the last cople of games ive been working hard to get all the way up the court and since i have been playing better.

well thats my life story. maybe ur problem is something simple like that, or u just need to lift ur workrate. good luck.
Are you replacing points with Dimes. Look at Boris Diaw. He figured out that scoring points was not always the answer. Work on your D too. Think people have figured out that any dummy can drop 30 or 40 in a game, but they want a player who can play lockdown D.
I'm with the others .... get your team mates involved. That usually helps my game.

If its a shooting slump...shooting 100 half way from the charity strip then backing up to the line for 100 more helps me. Get your stroke back. Good luck man!
Good answers above me.

Looking for the open man (whether you're in the low post or a slashing guard) is a great way to help not only your stats, but your entire team as well. If you're averaging 18 ppg, it's obvious that you can play. If you start looking for your teammates, the other team will have to play you more honest (if they're double teaming you).

Also, try to hustle a little bit more and beat out your man for more loose balls and rebounds. You can get a lot of easy buckets that way.

And remember, at thecollegelevel, scorers come a dime a dozen. You can make it by bringing that hard-nosed D and non-stop hustle to every game. Good luck.
