How do you define a bandwagon fan ?

I have run into a few people who say : 1. "I liked (fill it the blank) since i was 6 years old" . But it is usually the team that was good at the time. 2. Or the ones who like only good teams from all over the map. i.e a Laker/Yankee/Cowboy fan. Eventhough they don't live or have never lived in these cities. 3. Theycollegefan who "likes Florida State in football but Duke in basketball" ..How do you define a bandwagon fan ?

A bandwagon fan is one who roots for the current winner, and has no history of rooting for the team in the past. They also will have rooted for the previous winner, or winners, up until the present winner.

For example:

This year a fan roots for the Steelers because they won the Super Bowl. Last year the same fan rooted for the Patriots because they won the Super Bowl. (You'll see they have Dallas Cowboy, San Franciso 49ers, and Baltimore Ravens gear tucked away in a closet too.)

They only root for the current winner.

fair weather fan
uumm...someone who is always with the most recent champion. like, last year i became a white sox fan :) but i chose them before they won.
Look for the fans that occupy seats in the "leanest" of years and the worst weather conditions. Also, the ones that may complain......but it's always CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

These are the true fans.

Everyone else could be considered on the "bandwagon".....or at least the "sidelines".
